Hello Folks!!!

  Well, here's a bit of GREAT news. The "Soul of Pigs" project is back together to produce even more rocking music.

Update: The band formally known as "Soul of Pigs" has  been renamed ENIGMA and will be re-mixing and releasing an updated version of Soul of Pigs - Enigma 2000 album entitled

ENIGMA - Soul of Pigs.

We will also be performing live around our local area of midwestern Ohio and eventually be recording our new, even heavier hitting original music. Video of live performances will also be posted so stay tuned!!

It's STILL the original line-up! No replacement players here!

Rod Middleton - guitar, vocals

Russ Reed - percussion, vocals

Jim Graham - lead vocals

Mike Birkemeier - bass, vocals

The first rehearsal was Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007 (in my living room) and I am VERY excited to be playing with these guys again!

Russ has a new Pearl Master Customs drum set to pound on, Rod has new processing and plays through Mesa Boogie gear, I've got the awesome earth-rattling Ampeg bass set up and oodles of sound gear to record with, and Jim's got some great ideas and vocal chops to take the music to a new level.

We are presently playing out live around the Middletown, Dayton, and Sidney area, as well as recording more albums.

While we're on the subject of more albums,

Soul of Pigs is going to remix the 2000 Enigma album!!!

As I've stated before, we never really liked the original mixes and since I have oodles more gear and more recordable tracks, we're going to do the musicianship justice.

I am currently recording previous tracks onto new ones which will make the mixing process much less of a headache. Every instrument will have a separate track and channel. Much unlike before where I shared vocal, backup vocal, and guitar tracks on one single track. What a pain it was to have to change EQ, volume, and pan settings while mixing on the fly! None of that now!!!

After I've completed this, Jim will come into the studio to lay down additional vocal tracks. This is why the vocals on "Miss Vanity" sound better than on the other songs. Double tracking vocals is the way to go!

We believe the overall album will be much better than before and I can finally listen to it without thinking, "Man, that mix really sucks!!!".

I'll be posting audio and video files of the current works as soon as they are available so stayed tuned!
